Talent Development Manager - Family Dollar

Family Dollar Chesapeake, VA (Onsite) Full-Time

The Talent Development Manager, Talent Business Partner, plays a pivotal role in driving Family Dollar's talent strategies to support business goals and objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and business leaders, you will leverage your business acumen, emotional intelligence, and resiliency to navigate complex and dynamic situations effectively. You will execute key talent processes and strategies, fostering a culture of growth and leadership development across the organization.

In this role, you will focus on implementing performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and development programs for high-potential leaders. You will also manage leadership assessments and collaborate with stakeholders and external partners to enhance leadership development programs continually.

Primary Responsibilities

• Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to execute talent strategies that build organizational and people capabilities.

• Create and embed Family Dollar’s competency framework.

• Lead critical talent processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and high-potential talent development.

• Implement and drive high-potential leadership development programs to prepare future leaders for success.

• Promote a culture of coaching and feedback by supporting the design and execution of performance management programs.

• Manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a flexible, innovative approach to achieving business goals.

• Partner with leaders to assess talent, identify capability gaps, and develop actionable plans for addressing them.

• Oversee the proactive identification and development of key talent to meet organizational needs.

• Collaborate with external vendors to refine and enhance leadership development programs.

• Provide coaching to leaders to drive individual growth and company performance.

• Define and track success metrics (e.g., program completion, leader promotion rates, post-program performance improvement) to evaluate the impact of leadership development programs on business objectives.

• Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms in partnership with HR analytics to monitor participation, effectiveness, and ROI of training initiatives across all leadership levels.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience in retail, quick-service restaurant, or hospitality/tourism industries.

• Proven experience designing and delivering leadership development solutions in a retail setting.

• Experience managing start-up initiatives.

• Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a team.
