Manager, Inventory Analytics & Strategy-Dollar Tree

Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.The Manager of Inventory Analytics and Strategy will hold a key leadership role in the day-to-day management of our inventory flow systems (Relex and JDA), analysis, reporting and training. This position is responsible for understanding our inventory data and metrics at the lowest level of detail and should exhibit strong knowledge in replenishment and allocation theory, mathematical approach, and system/tool operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that our replenishment and allocation systems are operating effectively, and our third-party replenishment partners are executing as expected. This individual works cross functionally with the Inventory Management team, Merchandising, IT, Logistics and 3rd Parties to improve overall inventory performance. This role will have direct responsibility over the allocation and replenishment system administrators, and supply chain analyst. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
  • Support the Inventory Management team, with creative solutions to allocation and replenishment issues, research anomalies that are causing negative impacts on KPI’s, and system and process training.
  • This position is also responsible for daily/weekly inventory management reporting using Business Objects (Data Warehouse), Access databases, SQL, VBA, and ShowCase.
  • Review weekly exception reporting to identify issues with service levels, instock, and inventory targets; develop and implement corrective action plans to ensure goals and objectives are maintained.
  • Assist in managing the JDA allocation system by creating/updating system components, allocation variables, allocation methods, reviewing system accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage the relationship with third party replenishment provider.
  • Assist in designing and testing system upgrades and tool changes that impact the inventory management team.
  • Oversee and coordinate the flow of Inventory through the distribution centers.
  • Develop & deliver thorough, executive-level presentations
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
  • 3 plus years' experience in Merchandise Allocation and Replenishment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-analysis abilities; ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data; able to clearly explain conclusions and support decision making
  • Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting multiple goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively and contribute to a high performing team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word (MS Access and SQL a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
  • Experience with JDA retail enterprise allocation and Relex replenishment software
  • Supervisory experience
  • Other significant retail or operations experience
