NEW STORE SPECIALIST

Family Dollar Chesapeake, VA (Onsite) Full-Time
Summary of Position

Building inventory for REN (relocating, expanding, & new) stores opening level to company plan. Responsible for managing and processing REN (relocating, expanding, & new) stores 30 – 60 days post opening. Responsible for managing inventory and processing of closing stores 120 days prior closing. Provide support for all planned Grand Opening merchandise. Communicate and coordinate with various departments (Real Estate, Logistics, Operations, Merchandise) to support schedule changes and store merchandise requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing REN store inventory build to company plan.
  • Responsible for maintenance of inventory in respective Distribution Centers.
  • Manage store file maintenance changes to support grading, ASR store links, mix code adjustments.
  • Process orders for pending relocation and expanding stores.
  • Manage order processing for stores 30-60 days post opening/re-opening.
  • Manage inventory and processing of closing stores 120 days prior closing.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure a store transfer into a REN store is complimentary to the assortment of basic and event merchandise built for that location.
  • Communicate merchandise needs effectively to manager and other areas of organization as needed. Provide new store reports to Store Display Coordinators and field management.
  • Ensure store receives all planned Grand Opening, seasonal and promotional merchandise.
  • Provide feedback regarding inventory plans s needed to New Store Manager to ensure continual improvement in opening inventory.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Excel, Business Objects, Showcase, AS400 queries or similar Database queries.
  • Experience with and a thorough understanding of merchandise and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Flexible and able to work efficiently under deadlines with changing priorities.

Desired Qualifications
  • In store retail store and personnel experience.
  • Basic Retail Math skills.
  • Prior experience with new store opening processes, replenishment or allocations.
  • Prior order processing experience.
