Regional Maintenance Manager - Western Region (REMOTE ELGIBLE)
General Summary:
The Regional Maintenance Manager for Dollar Tree provides direction for the maintenance teams within and provides directional maintenance support to the operations partners for multiple sites across the organization’s distribution network. This role will be responsible for providing support for maintenance budget development and capital planning for the Dollar Tree distribution network in the assigned region. The Regional Maintenance Manager will monitor, audit and enforce maintenance execution and safe work practices in the distribution centers while driving for utilization of maintenance best practices. This role will require extensive travel (approximately 85%) throughout the Central and Western U.S. For that reason, this person will be based in a western/central market and have a home office in the DC local to the chosen area. What You'll Do/Job Description:
In this role you will be rewarded by driving the following critical impacts for the organization:
• Work with a substantial preventative predictive maintenance reliability program to drive downtime to zero
• Work with innovative technologies to include conveyance, and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE)/powered industrial trucks(PIT)
• Develop a high-performance team of managers and individual contributors, a strong technical problem-solving ability, excellent project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment
• Be supported in developing talent within your teams to expand their careers through formalized training via conferences, workshops, and mentoring
• Work with DC leadership to Develop a capital and expense plan for each building to reduce the cost of ownership
The essential job functions include:
Program Management:
• Providing oversight for budget development and execution, and capital planning
• Managing vendor support and equipment relationships and leverage Dollar Tree’s network size to maximize economies of scale
• Developing and managing budget and contract documents including Request for Proposals (RFPs), change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
Hiring and developing the best talent:
• Leading, mentoring and managing DC-based facilities mangers in the expansion and continuous improvement of Dollar Tree’s distribution network
• Assist in Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring bar raising talent in the facilities team
Audit, Report and Record:
• Monitoring, auditing and enforcing maintenance execution and safe work practice
• Instituting and auditing training drills across the network
• Driving Maintenance Best Practices including: Innovating, documenting, improving work methods, standardizing, providing a safe work environment and requiring safe work practices, training, commissioning equipment, collecting, measuring, and analyzing key performance indicators to improve processes and improve Dollar Tree’s customers’ experience
Partnering across business lanes:
• Leveraging the entire maintenance team for the benefit of the Dollar Tree network
• Providing Fulfillment Center General Managers with visibility over facilities manager responsibilities so that they can better understand, lead, mentor, and manage Facility Managers
What We Need From You/Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment) OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment)
• PLC/PC program knowledge and troubleshooting experience
• Hands-on experience in working with industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial controls devices/networking
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, relating technical issues to business leadership
• This role will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays based on business and project needs
• Customer service oriented
Additional Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Bachelor Degree or 2+ years Facilities Management experience
• Previous corporate and/or regional facilities roles leading multiple sites and managing managers
• At least 7 years of experience managing employees and their performance
• At least 7 years of experience in material handling equipment and large, complex integrated systems maintenance with strong statistical analysis skills
• At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance
• Ability to travel up to 85%
Preferred Qualifications
• CMRP, CMRT, CRP, FMP, CFM, SFP, MRC, Reliability Engineer certificates
• Experience in robotics and emerging technologies
• Experience in driving 100% uptime
• Experience leading change in a remote environment
Ammonia experience is a plus
Start Rate = $140,000 –$145,000 based on experience plus 20% bonus and equity.
