Director, Business Solutions

Dollar Tree Chesapeake, VA (Onsite) Full-Time
The Director, Business Solutions is responsible for managing a team that plans and executes a portfolio of IT projects to support the company’s business needs. The Business Services Director provides the leadership to define and execute strategic technology roadmap initiatives as well as ensure pro-active management of the enterprise technology platforms. This role must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the Company’s management team and must have organizational project management skills and is responsible for embracing Family Dollar’s store-centric commitment to customers, customer service and sales.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business leaders and IT leadership in the development of solution strategy and the associated prioritization of business initiatives.
Define a set of technology roadmaps that align to long term business objectives for the company
Actively manage project delivery within the portfolio in order to obtain the highest ROI for the business.
Utilize knowledge of the portfolio and business units to estimate, plan and engage in the budgeting process.
Provide leadership and active participation in cross-functional, departmental, and team meetings.
Provide leadership in the evaluation of new solutions and support processes/procedures.
Attract, retain, and lead a high performing team of Business Analysts and Projects Managers.
Build and maintain relationships with key business and IT stakeholders and leaders.
Maintain relationships with key solution and service suppliers in order to stay abreast of new developments and ongoing partnership opportunities.
Create and manage annual capital and expense budgets.
Manage peer relationships, including interface with peer IT Directors, Enterprise Architecture and Engineering, IT Risk, and IT Development.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field / equivalent work experience.
Experience: 10 – 15 years of related work experience, with 3+ of senior management experience highly preferred.
Job Related Skills: Situational awareness and tact in communication; experience in large-scale solution delivery; Experience with off-shore delivery; Demonstrated program/project management skills; Demonstrated team / people leadership skills
Computer Skills: Has a broad and varied technical background, with exposure to best in class IT operating environments. Experience managing and delivering technical solutions using a variety of development methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile, RUP, etc.). Specific knowledge and experience with enterprise solutions, such as Oracle Retail, Oracle EBS, and SAP, is preferred.
