The Opportunity
In this role, you will provide leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective programs to support the Company’s environmental, health and safety efforts, to reduce injuries and illnesses, and to ensure environmental compliance. This role supports all aspects of the business, including the Company’s supply-chain and retail operations.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will provide leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective programs to support the Company’s environmental, health and safety efforts, to reduce injuries and illnesses, and to ensure environmental compliance. This role supports all aspects of the business, including the Company’s supply-chain and retail operations.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage three program areas supporting the Company’s EH&S functions: store safety; Distribution Center safety; and environmental compliance.
- Partner with supply chain and retail operations leadership in developing and implementing site policies concerning environmental, health and safety.
- Act as subject matter expert for OSHA, EPA and similar federal, state, and local regulations.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on new environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Provide support on permit requests, renewals, and other operational requirements.
- Coordinate programmatic activity to ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Serve as contact for regulatory agencies, such EPA and OSHA.
- Develop and present to senior leadership a summary of EH&S activities and Company performance with respect to environmental, health and safety compliance.
- Develop and report on health and safety metrics.
- Direct, review, and approve environmental, health and safety policies and program documents.
- Develop and conduct health and safety training.
- Confidently communicate short term and long-term EH&S actions required.
- Identify and work with appropriate internal and external business partners on EH&S-related programs and activities.
- Participate in development and implementation of environmental, health and safety training programs.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Safety, Law, Human Resources, or Environmental Programs.
- Minimum 10 years prior experience in Safety, Human Resources, Asset Protection, or Environmental Programs.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large teams including remote groups.
- Excellent written, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong people skills; the ability to quickly develop relationships and communicate with multiple internal and external business partners.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving; able to creatively solve problems, innovative approaches where required.
- Ability to effectively communicate with business partners and senior leaders
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Detail-oriented and coordination of multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Travel approximately 40%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 Certification
