Merchandise Analytics Analyst - REMOTE

Summary of Position:

• Collects and interprets data, turns it into information suggesting ways to improve the business, thus affecting business decisions.
• Work closely with Merchandising leadership to facilitate tactical and strategic projects.
• Improve department performance through analysis and support of new initiatives.
~~Principal Duties and Responsibilities - The primary tasks the associate will perform.
• Provide reporting and analytical support to all areas of Dollar Tree Merchandising
• Support corporate directives / initiatives through project management support, measuring and reporting results, and providing actionable recommendations.
• Oversee report development efforts, including meeting with internal partners to uncover business needs and fine tune requirements; translating business needs into technical specifications; and developing reports.
• Perform maintenance and modifications to existing reports; identifying and resolving performance issues and troubleshooting errors as well as data discrepancies.
• Develop deep knowledge of company databases to become the department’s power user for data queries and data mining.
• Conceive, create and deliver business presentations to senior leadership.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics or equivalent experience.
• Four or more years related experience in Merchandising, Finance or Data Analytics roles.
• Advanced skills in MS Office products, especially Excel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex analysis to all levels of the organization.
• Highly analytical and detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to meet project deadlines
~~• Self-starter, ability to take initiative given general direction.

Desired Qualifications:

• Four or more years of related experience in a Buyer, Analyst, or Planner role.
• Knowledge of Basket Data Analysis for measuring Affinity and Segmentation.
• Education or experience with A/B Testing (Test and Learn) with an understanding of Test and Control strategies

• Experience in MS Visual Basic, SQL, or Python.
• Experience with Data Analytics Platforms such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau a plus.
• Proven experience in project management, process improvement roles.

Start Rate = $62k - $80k based on experience plus bonus
