Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.
Digital Merchandisers are primarily responsible for assisting Category Managers with execution of both tactical and strategic initiatives that support Ecommerce and Brick & Mortar. Digital Merchandisers are the liaison between Ecommerce and Digital Marketing.
Digital Merchandisers are responsible for ensuring new items have been set up properly in the DAM/PIM with correct metadata and images required to post on our Ecommerce site(s), and assisting with the development of weekly and ad hoc reports. This position requires frequent communication with other members of the buying team, marketing team, as well as with internal departments, and vendors. Digital Merchandisers perform administrative duties that allow Category Managers to function more efficiently and effectively within the organization. This position is responsible for embracing our omni channel commitment to customers, customer service and sales.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
• Support Merchandising roadmaps to positively influence product categories engagement and conversion through the digital eCommerce funnel.
• Ensure proper customer facing product categorization to enable customers to find relevant products quickly
• Optimize Category Landing Pages, Product Listing Pages, and Product Display Pages to ensure products are displayed in the right way to make it easy for customers to find and make purchases.
• Optimize the search experience by monitoring category search trends and performance, improve product data to bring back most relevant results, merchandise result sets including re-directs and biasing as well as manage facet display
• Assist with the development and execution of digital marketing efforts to support the store and ecommerce initiatives.
• Utilize customer feedback to make recommendations and provide insight to internal and cross functional team members.
• Maintain relationships to collaboratively work to resolve any site issues/discrepancies with support areas.
• Responsible for sales and margin performance for any assigned categories and assists team members to reach their performance goals.
• Contribute in the development of job processes and procedures that lead to role efficiencies and improvements
• Perform data entry functions to properly ensure that all eligible product is properly posted to our Ecommerce site, including but not limited to new item set up in our DAM/PIM. Maintain proficiency in use of internal computer systems such as Microstrategy, Photoshop, Google Analytics, JIRA, AS400, Retek, Sharepoint, Oracle Commerce Cloud, and DAM/PIM.
• Communicate regularly and consistently with suppliers to obtain new product information, including, descriptions, specifications, and photography.
• Other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience desired
• 2+ years' Retail experience
• Knowledge of category and store operations
• Basic/Intermediate excel skills
• Microsoft office
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization skills
• Curious mindset with a strong desire to find new ways to improve the customer experience
Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
• Digital Merchandising, Store Merchandising or Digital Marketing experience
• Experience working with web analytics tools such as Google or Adobe Analytics
