1st Shift Maintenance and Battery Technician
General Summary:
Perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures, and grounds. Assist skilled maintenance personnel with more complex repairs. Load and unload trailers, move merchandise from area to area, and use conveyors and forklift equipment throughout Distribution Center, as required.
Hourly Rate: $23 - $31/ hour depending on experience
Shift: 1st (4 shifts/ week between Monday - Friday 5am - 3:30pm)
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain, change and charge batteries of powered equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted workflow.
- Keep maintenance records on battery inventory and perform minor maintenance on equipment batteries.
- Complete minor and routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning equipment and assisting skilled maintenance associates with more complex repairs or maintenance.
- Paint, plaster, and perform other building and grounds maintenance functions including plumbing and carpentry in order to maintain the facility.
- Assist with preventive maintenance to ensure the distribution center equipment is continually functioning at optimum levels.
- Assist housekeeping associates in the removal, disposal, and compacting of trash and general cleaning.
- Perform general warehouse duties, as required, including loading and unloading trailers and use of forklift type equipment.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years industrial maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Welding and electric motor experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing and small machines.
- Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes, as required.
