FP&A Analyst Real Estate

THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role, you will support the Real Estate Finance division by analyzing and interpreting large financial data sets using statistical and programming skills to extract valuable insights, develop predictive models and reports that inform critical business decisions within the organization. The department is responsible for over a billion dollars in annual capital and op ex spend. You will advance not only financial, but also operational analytics for real estate, store construction, and property & facilities management. Your work will be in support of Dollar Tree’s aggressive store growth and renovation objectives and in developing and executing the strategic initiatives to support them. This position will offer a modern and thoughtful approach to data analysis utilizing the latest technologies with the goal of accelerating the company’s growth agenda, advancing Dollar Tree’s business objectives, and contributing to EBITDA and operating income improvements.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Support the FP&A team responsible for the financial and operational analytics of the company’s Real Estate division by partnering with department heads to develop and build business intelligence tools.
• Identify relevant data sources and automate the collection processes.
• Create and implement predictive models through the development and automation of driver based rolling forecasts
• Perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
• Execute analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domains and industries
• Utilize quantitative analysis and experimentation to aid in the development of business strategies
• Support scenario planning to provide leaders with potential financial outcomes resulting from various of business decisions
• Develop best practices for data standards and coding practices to ensure consistency in data models
• Assist supervisor and other team members with ad-hoc analysis, modeling and data gathering projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field
• Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, or data mining
• Experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis
• Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses and visualization of targeted data sources
• Excellent written/oral communication and data presentation skills
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with dashboarding tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s degree in related field
• Retail experience
• Experienced with Alteryx and IBM Planning Analytics
• Experience with Big Data
• Experience with statistical analyses and data modeling that leverages both AI and Machine Learning
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as SQL, Python, and R
• Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modeling
