Summary of Position
The Dollar Tree / Family Dollar Import team manages the movement of all products internationally sourced for delivery to United States and Canada, which includes the movement of nearly 90,000 containers per year. The role of the Import Logistics Analyst (Origin) is to support growing import and global sourcing initiatives by coordinating daily flow of import goods from origins to distribution centers while proactively addressing challenges as a key escalation point for the team. This includes serving as a key liaison between our internal and external logistics partners, external vendors, inventory management and merchandising partners to support company objectives to meet sales goals. The Import Logistics Analyst (Origin) will drive operational efficiency by optimizing freight movement, monitoring key performance metrics and providing strategic insight to management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily Operations & Issue Resolution:
- Daily operational support for imported goods, to include oversight of logistics related problems and challenges.
- Oversee the invoicing process for ocean carriers and supplier management, conduct regular freight audits to verify charges, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage vendor statement of accounts, reconciling balances, resolving disputes, and foster strong supplier relationships to optimize financial operations.
- Provide import merchandise PO tracking and visibility included updated milestones along the supply chain process utilizing internal and external data resources.
- Track seasonal and promotional merchandise as needed. Provide updates to buyers and ensure origin teams prioritize loading and shipping of these goods.
- Provide logistics assistance with the expanding network of origin countries due to the merchandise team increasing purchasing from non-China locations.
- Timely and Accurate Deliverables:
- Visibility reporting, freight invoice validation, claims, load planning, order/booking management, cost and performance analysis and implementing value-added import logistics initiatives.
- Interpret data and analyze trends regarding freight availability, carrier reliability, shipping costs.
- Create and analyze assigned performance related KPIs to ensure service expectations are met.
- Complete other analysis, reporting, projects, and duties as assigned by the Import management team.
- Onboard & Support Logistics Partners
- Participate in weekly sessions and quarter business reviews with supplier management vendors who are responsible for international operations
- Assist with onboarding of new import logistics partners and vendors.
- Meet with stakeholders to address poor performance and implement steps to drive improved efficiencies.
- Ocean Carrier and NVOCC Performance Management
- Interface with freight forwarders, NVOCC and direct ocean carriers to ensure their service and performance levels are meeting requirements.
- Serve as an escalation point addressing any underperforming vendors directly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Process
- Work with department leaders to recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners on rollout of initiatives within current processes to improve overall efficiency.
- Confer with Import team to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency and control logistics costs.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Access, SharePoint & Power BI
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising, or related field with three years of professional experience OR five years of related experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising or related field.
